I was unwell and pre-diabetic after having gestational diabetes with two of my three pregnancies. One day in that very November, I woke up and something clicked. I had to lose weight and get fit to save my life. I started eating consciously and gave up sugar and packaged foods. The first 25kg came off rapidly and then I hit the dreaded plateau. By October I started gaining again so I joined Jetts South Toowoomba. I was terrified, embarrassed and determined. Through lifting, functional training and strength training I shed another 22.5kg while building muscle. Not only have I lost pretty much 50kg but also lost over 80cm off my waist and have more than halved my body fat percentage! I train hard and eat what I want now, however I view food as fuel and naturally make better choices. Since losing weight and getting fit I have developed a deep passion for the fit life, I do not drink alcohol and I eat, eat, eat. I'm constantly looking at ways to change my program up. I love working on the functional trainer and lifting heavy!! What I love most is that I have energy now to do whatever I set my mind to. I can run with my kids, my mental health is stable and I am not pre-diabetic any more. I've gone from frumpy mum to fit mum, with a lot of hard work, honesty and dedication. If I can do it, anyone can! #pitangafitgirls"....
